Our Client Work > 360 Feedback Inspires Change in the Senior Team
Summary
360 feedback helped the senior executive team see how their dysfunctional behaviors damaged the business and served as a catalyst for positive behavior change.
The Situation
The VP HR for the insurance unit of a financial services company was concerned about the negative impact that dysfunctional leader behavior was having on business results. Leaders in the insurance unit espoused a new culture that valued risk taking and empowerment, but their behaviors said something different. All important decisions were made at the top and the group took few risks. Roles and responsibilities were not clearly defined, and small teams operated in silos.
How KCG Helped
HR asked KCG to design a program which would not only show senior management their shortcomings as a leadership team, but give them the motivation and wherewithal to make a difference.
The 360 program:
- Identified the leadership attributes the management team believed they needed to meet market challenges
- Provided feedback to the President and team members regarding how they compared to those attributes
- Provided insights into the gaps that existed between what everyone recognized as essential for meeting business challenges and what was actually happening in the organization.
Results
The President and his team committed to the individual and collective actions they would take to improve decision making, increase sales, manage performance, and clarify roles and responsibilities. Implementation is in process.
